July 6, 2022Spring has sprung and that means it’s a great time to take care of those projects around the house, including getting your outdoor lighting ready for the season.
If are ready to entertain and enjoy the season, you’ve probably thought about your outdoor lighting, as it can really make a difference when you are sitting on the patio or showing off your gorgeous landscaping.
After the winter, it’s a good idea to get your lighting ready for spring, as it can sustain damage and wear after the long, hard winter.
Here are some ways to get your outdoor lighting ready for spring. Read on!
Check for damage
Winter can be hard on outdoor lighting, so make sure to do a thorough inspection of your outdoor lighting once the snow and ice have melted. Check the bulbs, wires and fixtures, making sure there aren’t cracks, fraying or other damage. Replace what needs replacing.
Cleaning
When you look around your fixtures, take the time to clean off dirt, mulch, grass clippings and other debris from your lighting. It’s also a good idea to wipe down the lenses and glass, as they will shine brighter when you remove dirt, salt deposits and more.
Reset your timers
If you haven’t checked out your timers, now is a great time to see if they are set to come on at the optimal times and shut off when no longer needed. It usually takes a second, so make sure to take this step!
If you are looking to update your outdoor lighting or if you have questions about your current setup, it’s always a good idea to consult with a qualified electrician, so you can safely illuminate your home.
